Network provider says there is no reason to believe outages could be due to cyber attacks
The fall for hours of one of the mobile phone networks most important in Denmark has wreaked chaos this Thursday in the country. Widespread blackouts have prevented citizens from contacting emergency services and at least one hospital has been forced to reduce non-critical medical care.
The situation has led security services in some regions to patrol the streets looking for people who needed help, on a day in which means of transport have also been affected, since some are digitalized.
The problems were probably due to an update carried out in the last 24 hours, as reported in a statement collected by the Associated Press by the affected network provider, TDC Net. In this sense, they have indicated that there was no reason to believe that the interruptions could be due to cyber attacks.
The supplier itself indicated later on Thursday that its operations had returned to normal and that he was now investigating the cause of the interruption.
Trains and buses were also delayed in some areas of the country. due to signaling problemswith chaos in the stations and people trapped on the railways, according to Danish media.
