A 68-year-old man, with a criminal record for another crime committed three decades ago, has allegedly killed a 94-year-old fellow resident in the early hours of this Thursday in Vitoria. According to ‘El Correo’, the events occurred when the rest of the center’s residents were resting. The elderly woman was taken alive to the Txagorritxu hospital, where she died around 8:00 a.m. as a result of wounds inflicted on her face with a sharp object, as detailed by the Ertzaintza in a note.
The Ertzaintza, which maintains an open investigation to clarify the facts, has arrested the 68-year-old man, also a resident of the same center, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of homicide. “The agents have carried out an inspection of the facilities of the senior center and initiated a search operation throughout the city due to the possibility that he had fled from there. Finally, he was found hiding in a bathroom in a changing room of the residence itself,” the Basque Police explained in a press release.
