Upon arriving at his home, he found the commission in charge of the process and took his own life.
A 55-year-old man who was going to be evicted this Monday afternoon in Barcelona committed suicide before proceeding with the eviction. According to municipal sources, he lived in a flat of official protection in the name of his mother, now deceased, in the Bon Pastor neighborhood.
The eviction was due “to repeated cases of serious neighborhood conflict” since 2019 and non-payment of rent, said the sources cited by the City Council. The launch had been paralyzed for 15 days.
The authorities affirmed that the new date and the delivery of the keys had been agreed with the tenant, “offering social resources and follow-up at all times,” says Europa Press.
However, when they arrived at the apartment for the eviction, the officials did not find anyone in the apartment. Some sources say that the man came later and killed himself in front of them, others that he threw himself off the balcony of the house.
