This weekend will be marked by the passage of a front, especially this Saturday, and the subsequent formation of a DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels), as explained by the spokesman for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). For this reason, there will be rain in large areas of the country, which will be strong and persistent, especially in parts of the north and east, as well as snowfall in the mountains. Besides, temperatures will drop clearly, especially this Saturday, where several provincial capitals will remain at a maximum of 10ºC.
October will say goodbye with precipitation and will end as a rainier October than usual. For its part, Eltiempo.es has indicated that, if the forecast comes true, the area that would be most affected by the rains would be the eastern part of the peninsula and, specifically, the Mediterranean, where very intense and even torrential rains could fall.
The front associated with an Atlantic storm that arrived this Friday will finish affecting Spain on Saturday and will leave abundant rains in the north of Aragon, in Catalonia, the Levante area and in the Balearic Islands. Meanwhile, a DANA will form around the country, which will lead to showers in large areas with snowfall in the mountains above 1,200 to 1,600 meters.
The Aemet spokesperson has announced that this day will also be a cold day for the time of year, with daytime temperatures that will be between five and ten degrees below of those usual for the time in much of the territory. In this sense, cities like Ávila or Soria will not even reach the maximum 10ºC and Madrid will barely reach 13ºC, like many cities on the plateau that will remain below 15ºC.
The influence of DANA will continue on Sunday and there will be probable rains in a good part of the territory with larger accumulations in the north, in the center, Cantabrian and northeast. In addition, the snow would fall again from about 1,600 meters. This day there will be a recovery in temperatures in the west, but the cold atmosphere for the season will still remain, especially in the eastern half of the Peninsula. Cities like Cuenca or Albacete will be around 10 and 12 ºC at midday.
