Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas’The Nini‘, alleged security chief of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) in Culiacán, was accused of kidnapping and killing an informant United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), along with 9 other crimesin the Court of the Southern District of New York, according to the EFE agency.
Drug trafficking, murder, kidnapping, firearms, money laundering and obstruction of Justice through the murder of the informant are Other crimes for which ‘El Nini’ is being tried after being extradited from Mexico a few days ago.
When questioned by district judge Katherine Polk Failla, who was allegedly one of those close to ‘Los Chapitos’, pleaded “not guilty” of the aforementioned crimes.
The ‘Nini’ would have renounced the option of submitting a preliminary report with personal, medical, economic and criminal information, so that the magistrates could include it as a file prior to the start of a proper trial, according to journalist Jesús García.
Nini vs DEA informant?
One of the strongest accusations made at the hearing against Pérez Salas was the murder of a DEA informant and 10 other peopleincluding a North American citizen and a minor under 13 years of age.
As we mentioned, his crimes include obstruction of justice for the homicide of the informant, firearms, money laundering, fentanyl trafficking, among others.
There were a total of 10 crimes for which ‘El Nini’ was accused, some of them with maximum sentences of life imprisonment according to US laws.
