A judge accuses the intern who reported him of threats against Nacho Cano

The Court of Instruction number 22 of Madrid, headed by Judge Patricia Jiménez-Alfaro, has opened proceedings following the complaint of threats that Nacho Cano filed against Leslie Guadalupe, the intern who had previously denounced the producer for alleged crimes against the rights of foreigners and the workers of the musical Malinche. As advanced The World and a spokesperson for the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has confirmed to elDiario.es, the dancer is summoned to testify on December 12.

Last September, Cano denounced Leslie Guadalupe for “conditional threats” and revelation of secrets. To do this, he presented as alleged evidence WhatsApp messages in which the young woman requested a payment of 6,000 euros, a letter of recommendation and a stay in a hotel to prevent her from “proceeding legally.” The dancer explained that she had spoken with her lawyer about her situation in the play and that she could sue him for “negligence, discrimination, psychological abuse and deprivation of liberty in the hostel, among other things.” These messages were allegedly sent on December 22, 2023, before filing the complaint.

This case regarding alleged threats is independent of the procedure opened in another court in Madrid to determine whether the former member of Mecano kept twenty interns irregularly in his musical Malinche. In fact, the instructor of that case, Inmaculada Iglesias, considered those messages “irrelevant and unnecessary” to advance her investigations and refused to include them in the case.

Leslie Guadalupe was summoned to testify on October 28 in the context of that case, although she requested to postpone her appearance given that she was not “in good condition.” The Mexican assures that, after being “locked up for two hours in the hostel” where she lived with the rest of the interns, Cano and her team offered her “3,000 euros, a return ticket and to sign a letter disengaging” from she. The dancer refused to accept their conditions and, as detailed to this newspaper, they offered her “more money, up to 10,000 euros.” “I didn’t accept anything,” he says.
