Guadalajara, Jalisco.- “A hug of nomination to the Taller del Chucho”, celebrated Guillermo del Toro after the announcement of his nomination a Best Animated Feature with pinocchio.
“To the whole band stop motion in Guadalajara. We have been together for decades and what follows… The work and love that she gave to PINOCCHIO It must continue”, he expressed after thanking the nomination.
The movie by the filmmaker from Guadalajara, Pinocchio, co-directed with Mark Gustafson, was animated in Portland and also in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
At the Taller del Chucho, located in the Perla Tapatía, animators from Guadalajara and Mexico gave life to many of the scenes from Pinocchio.
“THANKFUL and HAPPY for our fabulous team and artists and technicians in three countries and all over the world!!!”, he commented after the announcement of his nomination to the Oscars 2023.
In addition, he congratulated all nominated films to the same category: “What a great group!!”, he celebrated.
Pinocchio has also garnered various nominations such as three at the Critics Choice Awards, another three at the Golden Globes, and nine at the 2023 Annie Awards.
René Castillo, Luis Téllez, Mayrení Senior and Sergio Valdivia are some of the animators who brought the characters to life in the city of Guadalajara.
