A fall in the computer service of the Cantabrian Health Service affects all the hospitals and offices of Cantabria

A fall this Friday of the computer service of the Cantabrian Health Service (SCS) has affected all hospitals and health centers of the Autonomous Community, although applications have already begun to recover and the system and “little by little” returns astemptial normality.

The fall of the system -and consequently, of the procedures that are carried out by computer channels -has affected all the hospitals of Cantabria -Valdecilla, Sierrallana, Laredo and three seas-, as well as the totality of health centers and to the emergency service 061.

This has been reported by sources from the Ministry of Health, who have explained that the computer drop has occurred due to the change of a hard drive on the servers of the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital of Santander and for reasons that “have not yet been determined”, but that in turn has caused the fall of all virtual servers and the blockade in the telephone network and data.

From the Government of Cantabria they have indicated that contingency plans are activated as long as the problem is resolved but the Ministry does not yet have a time forecast for complete recovery.
