The 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has a distinct Gulf participation, as a regional and global platform through which the latest publications of books and cultural encyclopedias are presented. In this regard, Bashar Jassim, Director of the Bahrain International Book Fair, confirmed in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” the keenness of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities to be present and participate in the 31st edition of this fair, which is witnessing the participation of more than a thousand exhibitors from 80 countries. He pointed out that the Bahraini pavilion includes the latest publications in various literary, cultural and heritage works, including the project that is being held under the patronage of Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, as well as special editions of Bahraini heritage.

He pointed out that the authority, during its participation in this exhibition – which will continue until May 29 – is reviewing a number of its publications in various fields of knowledge by Bahraini authors and writers, in addition to the publications of the “Knowledge Transfer” project and the various issues of the Bahrain Cultural Magazine, in addition to a group of books dealing with topics Such as heritage, literature, history, art, antiquities, cinema and others. The Director of the Bahrain International Book Fair stressed that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair represents a window on the world of the book industry, bringing together experts and those interested in this industry, which is witnessing continuous growth despite all challenges. He thanked the wise leadership of the UAE for its support and keenness to provide all facilities for the participation of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in exhibition.

For his part, Ahmed Al Rashidi, representative of the Ministry of Culture and Youth in the Sultanate of Oman, said that participation in the 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair comes within the framework of the existing cultural relations between the two brotherly countries, which are distinguished by their depth and strength. Al Rashidi indicated that the Sultanate’s pavilion includes a diverse group and an expanded list of book titles and multiple publications of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Information, in addition to a number of publications for governmental and private bodies and institutions and civil society institutions.
He pointed out that the Sultanate’s pavilion witnesses in each session of this exhibition a great turnout by visitors of different categories and cultural and intellectual orientations, and that the pavilion receives interest and attention from academic and research institutions that seek to acquire books and various Omani publications.

The State of Kuwait will also participate in the exhibition through a special pavilion for Platinum Book Company for Advertising, Publishing and Distribution. Its Director General, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haider, confirmed, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, the State of Kuwait’s keenness to permanently participate in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. He pointed out that this participation in the exhibition is the fifteenth in a row, noting that the pavilion includes a number of publications and books by Kuwaiti authors, in addition to books in the field of self-development, poetry, literature, novels and others. Al-Haidar stressed that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is an important event that attracts those interested in culture, praising the good organization and the establishment of many cultural events amid the application of precautionary measures.
