The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai has announced its full readiness to secure New Year’s Eve events 2022, and to adopt 100% operational plans and procedures to contribute to the annual celebration in a manner befitting the reputation of Dubai in organizing the best shows and major international events.
The Director General of Dubai Civil Defense, Lieutenant-General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, said that the civil defense teams are concerned with the task of securing 29 main sites designated for events and celebration of fireworks.
He added that according to the established plan, the celebration sites were divided into three main sectors, the Deira sector, the Bur Dubai sector, the Jebel Ali sector and the waterfront, pointing to the participation of a manpower of 679 officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals who represent a selection of specialized units and teams with high professional competence, equipped with about 84 mechanisms of different specializations, in addition to logistical support from other teams, are on standby in the event of any emergency in all Dubai Civil Defense centers.
He pointed out that the stage of securing the events is not limited to the celebration hours, as it was preceded by cooperation with developers, consultants and contractors to implement safety conditions in all buildings and facilities in Dubai related to the smart safety system, 24/7 to ensure the readiness of fire and safety systems in those buildings by 100%.
The Dubai Civil Defense also carried out a number of evacuation exercises at the sites of events and activities during the previous period, to ensure their readiness, and to ensure the safety of the public, and carried out inspections of the buildings and facilities in which the events will be held to ensure the availability of prevention and safety requirements and fire protection systems, most notably the Burj Khalifa and its adjacent facilities. With 61 buildings.
Al-Matrooshi called on members of the public to abide by the instructions, directives and instructions issued by the official authorities to ensure their safety and provide the best conditions that help them spend happy times with family and friends on New Year’s Eve, stressing his confidence in the capabilities of the concerned authorities to provide the best services to make them happy.
