The Provincial Court of Zamora has sentenced 40 years in prison for a businessman from Zamora for five crimes of continuous sexual abuse and another of sexual abuse. The victims were his two daughters and four of their friends between 2017 and 2022, when they were minorsaccording to the ruling issued by the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León (TSJCyL).
The convicted man took advantage of the pajama parties that his daughters organized at home and that some of their friends accompanied them on summer vacations to committing the abuse when the victims were between 11 and 14 years old, according to the judicial ruling that the TSJCyL announced this Wednesday, and against which there is an appeal.
The victims hid the abuse for years for fear of reprisalsuntil one of them confessed it to her mother and then they all reported it.
The trial was held at the beginning of the month for four days in the Zamora Court. By then, five of the victims were already of legal age, except one of them17 years old. The minor confessed that, when she was 12 years old, the accused groped her private parts and told it to one of the businessman’s daughters, who begged him not to leave her alone with her father.
One of the episodes reported by another victim occurred on a trip, when the convicted man raped the minorin addition to committing more sexual assaults on her between 2018 and 2022.
The ruling of the Zamora Court – on which there is the possibility of filing an appeal within a period of ten days from notification of the court ruling – includes convictions for six “crimes of continued sexual abuse.”
The accused committed two of the six crimes against his daughters, for which he is sentenced to ten years in prison for each one. For three other crimes he is sentenced to five years and, for the last, four years in prison.
Furthermore, the convicted person – who is in provisional prison since his arrest due to a high risk of flight – he will have to face compensation of 140,000 euros: 30,000 euros to each of his daughters for moral damages and 20,000 to the other four young women for the same.
In the same way, they impose distancing measures at 500 meters and prohibition of communication with victims for 15 yearssupervised release for ten years and special disqualification for activities that involve regular and direct contact with minors for 16 years.
