In its 33rd session, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair presents rare and important publications, manuscripts, and collectibles, including the “Golden Horse” book, hand-carved with 24-carat gold, whose price exceeds 70 thousand dirhams, and was made in Italy, and is considered a unique piece of art in terms of form and content. Its cover is made of natural leather, wrapped in silk, and features images of galloping horses hand-carved from bronze coated with 24-carat gold.
A rare first edition of the book “The Camel: Its Anatomy, Proportions, and Steps” by landscape designer Elijah Walton is also for sale. It is considered a masterpiece of anatomical study and has been likened to the famous painter George Stubbs’s depiction of horses. This huge and rare work about the camel was published in 1865 and appeared only nine times in the book. Public auction, during the last century, and is offered for sale for 45 thousand dirhams.
