The National Police are investigating an alleged group attack committed last Saturday night in Castellón, during the first weekend of the Magdalena festivities, in which a 32-year-old man was seriously injured and remains admitted to the Police Unit. Police and medical personnel traveled on Saturday, around 11:30 p.m., to the scene of the incident after the emergency notification received in which they were alerted of a mass fight with an injured person in the vicinity of Plaza Isabel la Católica, in the that multiple groups gather during the festive week in the city.
According to eyewitnesses, the young man who was attacked was on Arquitecto Maristany Street, in the extension of the 9 de Marzo road, when he was surprised by the group of attackers, between 25 and 30 members, “linked to the extreme right” and loaded with bars and sticks.

The same sources assure that the incident has an ideological background and that the objective of the alleged attackers, whose identity has not been revealed, was to reach the headquarters of the group. La Cosa Nostra, an anti-fascist collective located on Sant Miquel street, a few meters from the place where the massive beating took place.
