A 21-year-old young man arrested in Gerona for storing and distributing child pornography

The National Police A 21-year-old young man has been arrested in Olot (Gerona) for storing and distributing child pornography, as reported by the body in a statement this Thursday.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), established in the United States, was the one who, during a cyber patrol, located a user in the town of Olot who had been storing and distributing files of this nature.

The NCMEC transferred this information to the Central Cybercrime Unit (UCC) of the National Police, which assigned the investigation to the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of Girona. This last managed to identify the perpetrator of the alleged crime after carrying out various procedures.

During the entry and search of the home, carried out on October 17, investigators discovered that the suspect had been carrying out pedophile file downloadsas well as a “guide” that explained not only how to download this content, but also how to maintain relationships with minors, even very young ones, for which he was detained.

The forensic computer experts of the National Police continue to analyze all the seized material, while the suspect, who was brought to justice on October 18, has been released with precautionary measuresaccording to police sources familiar with the case.
