This Friday, the medical helicopter team of the Government of Cantabria rescued a young man, aged 19, who dislocated his arm while kayaking on the Gándara River, near Regules, in the municipality of Soba.
As reported by the 112 Cantabria Emergency Service on its social network X, The young man was with four other people when a boat capsized and, when he went to help, a second capsize occurred. It was during the maneuvers to get out of the water when the affected person suffered the injury that prevented him from leaving the place where he was.
EMERGENCIES
The Emergency Attention Center mobilized the aircraft there. Once in the area, the rescuer and the doctor descended to a clearing near the group, and stabilized the boy by taking his shoulder.
With the emergency care carried out, they proceeded to hoist him onto the helicopter and evacuate him to the Seve Ballesteros. An ambulance from the 061 health service was waiting there and took him to the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital.
