Many have been wondering for months when the domain of Fiat Panda on the Italian car market will be broken. The only certain answer, however, is that even in February the city car of the Turin brand had no rivals: 10,130 registered models, almost more than triple those registered of the second most delivered model in our country, the Lancia Ypsilon, delivered in 3,894. units in the second month of the year. On the lowest step of the podium is Ford Puma, which together with Panda and Ypsilon is the only one to have passed the 3,000 sales barrier.
Another Fiat is in fourth position: it is the 500X, delivered in 2,595 copies. However, the rivalry for the first position off the podium seems to be very fierce: to have exceeded the 2,500 units registered were also Citroen C3, Dacia Duster, Dacia Sandero and Renault Captur. Finally, there are Jeep Renegade and Peugeot 208 to close the top 10. As for the large car groups excluded from the first ten positions, it is necessary to go down to the thirteenth position to find the first Toyota: it is the Yaris, sold in February in 2,083 unit. Only nineteenth the first BMW in the top 50, the X1, while Volkswagen it does no better than 21st place with the Polo. Finally, as for Mercedes, the GLA was the best-selling Star model in Italy in the second month of the year, finishing in forty-fifth position in the general classification.
The cumulative for the first two months of the year gives us a predictable picture at least at the top of the standings: the Fiat Panda is confirmed as unrivaled with over 19,000 cars delivered, the second position of the Lancia Ypsilon, however, over 12,000 units away. The good results obtained by Ford Puma in February do not allow it to get on the podium: the bronze medal for the first two months of 2022 goes to Dacia Sandero, which precedes the blue Oval crossover. It should be noted that both in the month of February alone and in the cumulative of the first two months of the year no 100% electric model appears in the top fifty positions.
