The warning of the Ukrainian authorities came after the pioneers of social networking sites shared pictures of the roofs of buildings, which included this signal.
According to the authorities, these signs were placed by Russian soldiers or loyal to them, with the purpose of guiding planes to important areas for bombing.
The authorities issued a warning on the media, asking residents to monitor the roofs of the buildings in which they reside, calling to hide any “strange” signs that are monitored, whether by painting them or covering them with adhesive tape, according to the newspaper, “Daily Star”.
According to the British newspaper, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko issued a statement urging citizens to inform the authorities about the buildings that have drawn red signs on them, and the people suspected of placing them.
Klitschko accused the Ukrainian “collaborators” with Russia of “treason”, saying that “anyone who helps Putin’s army will be put behind bars,” adding that “the crime is punishable by imprisonment from 12 to 15 years, with or without confiscation of property.”
