User reviews have made Netflix Cancel the Cowboy bebop series, a cult anime adaptation starring John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, and Daniella Pineda. Although at the beginning the project gave fans hope of seeing a worthy story, in the end the result has not been to their liking at all.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live action adaptation of the anime series directed by Shinichiro Watanabe did not convince the audience and had an extremely negative reception.
The bad reviews did not favor Cowboy bebop at its premiere. On Rotten Tomatoes alone, the first season has reached 46% from critics and 54% from audience. On Metacritic, it only reached 47 points and an average of 4.2 from users.

As the US media clarifies, based on “insiders”, the decision would have been made due to all the bad reception it has had from fans and the low rating of specialized film portals.
The portal explains that for Netflix to renew for a second season of any original series on its platform, it must have an average rating of at least 60% on movie pages.
In such a way, the project, which featured actors John Cho as Spike spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet black and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, did not get the interest of the platform for its continuation.
