Suzuki presented the new version of the suv S-Cross Hybrid, able to express all the typical values of the Japanese brand. Currently the Japanese manufacturer is in a good phase in the Italian market and therefore it is time to capitalize in a sector, such as the SUV one, which is full of competition.
The new S-Cross Hybrid features a piano-black front grille. The large grille surface is marked by the Suzuki emblem suspended from a chrome bar. The front and rear are characterized by silver details for the skid-plates, and the squared wheel arches are also noticeable. The car will be available in eight colors. Metallic colors include new Oslo Gray, Dubai Black, Grand Canyon Orange, Arctic White, Seville Red, Capri Blue and New York Silver. They are flanked by Santorini White, with a pastel finish.
As for the passenger compartment, the seats, with seat and back sides in leather, offer a fabric-effect finish in the central part, underlining the off-road character. The 9 ”touchscreen is in the center of the dashboard, while the 4 × 4 ALLGRIP system selector is located in the central tunnel. The rear sofa is adjustable on two levels of inclination of the backrests. Relative to the panoramic roof, two sliding glass panels create an extra-large opening: when the roof is closed the length of the glazed surface is equal to 100 cm and can be opened to guarantee an exposed surface up to 56 cm in length. Standard in all versions: dual-zone automatic climate control, roof console with courtesy lights and glasses compartment, USB socket, central armrest with storage compartment, central armrest with integrated cup holder
S-Cross Hybrid is equipped with a 1.4 turbo Boosterjet engine, a torque-rich unit thanks to its low inertia turbine, optimized direct injection system, electric variable intake timing and high compression ratio. It is coupled with the Suzuki 48V hybrid system which powers a 10 kW electric motor. Under normal conditions the system is able to reduce fuel consumption by providing support to torque delivery through an electric motor. When it detects the demand for power, the torque compensation system and torque boost increase response, smoothness and acceleration.
The 4 × 4 ALLGRIP Select system it is divided into four modes selectable by the control on the central tunnel (Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock). The system is electronically controlled and adapts the amount of torque to be distributed towards the rear wheels and communicates with the ESP® system, the engine management and the other on-board systems to ensure the most appropriate response for each mode. Finally, the car is equipped with advanced safety systems and level 2 autonomous driving, integrated with cameras and sensors: among the ADAS there are adaptive cruise control, lane monitoring, traffic sign recognition and the integrated automatic brake with obstacle detection. (vehicles or pedestrians).
From 25 November the Suzuki S-Cross Hybrid will be available for purchase in the 1.4 Starview AT 4WD ALLGRIP configuration. This version, equipped with everything as standard, is available online on the Suzuki Smart Buy platform at € 30,690.
