Mike Rose of No More Robots publisher unveiled some recent data Let’s Build a Zoo, including sales onEpic Games Store come on Steam. The difference between the two platforms is abysmal, to put it mildly. But let’s go in order.
Rose revealed that in the first seven days of marketing, Let’s Build a Zoo sold 32,000 units producing $ 500,000 revenues, which allowed him to recover the development costs incurred. Rose expects revenues of $ 700,000 for the first month and $ 1.5 million for the first year, to be obtained with the updates already planned, which in the plans will keep the interest in the game alive.
The nation where the sympathetic management has sold more are the USA (26% of the total). China (16%) and Thailand (13%) follow. And here comes the data from the two platforms, which make quite an impression. Let’s Build a Zoo sold 99% of copies on Steam, against only the remaining 1% on the Epic Games Store (it was not launched in any other store).
As you will realize for yourself, it is an abyss. Basically on EGS Let’s Build a Zoo it only sold 320 copies. Of course it will not be the same for all games, but the data is still interesting because it makes us understand how important Steam is for the PC market and how much the competition has to struggle to keep up with it, despite the gifts, exclusives and offers.
