It’s not often that we see protagonists evolve in certain ways. In Jujutsu Kaisen, however, it happened, given that Gege Akutami did not take it easy with the heaviness of the events. The mangaka has completely changed his world by chasing the protagonists in a challenge that seems to be one-way, with death as the only goal.
And Yuji and Megumi had to participate in the Extermination Game, which already promises to be brutal from the name. To do this, however, the two had to adapt to the new reality: Yuji Itadori is bearing the brunt of Sukuna’s victims and besides, he seems to have made up his mind to just play the pawn, the gear, as he impassively explains to Hakari. His will seems to be iron and is starting to have many less scruples than in the past.
At the same time, who has completely lost all scruples is Megumi Fushiguro. While good, Fushiguro has always put Tsumiki’s health and safety above all else. His words in Jujutsu Kaisen 161 show no mercy, to want to point out those increasingly subtle differences with Yuji. In fact, Fushiguro has stated that he will be willing to kill people, civilians and non-civilians, in order to reach 100 points if necessary.
A transformation that could lead to more bloody phase of Jujutsu Kaisen and that could make the Shibuya saga a simple appetizer of something even heavier.
