The opposition to the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, has asked for his resignation and that of his board of directors through a statement. The document was signed this Sunday by groups and associations linked to the club, including ‘Yes to the Future’, represented by Víctor Font, and ‘Som un clam’, by Joan Camprubí.
This request for resignation comes after the ‘Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor cases’. Those who subscribe to the statement point out that, if he does not resign, he should submit to a binding question of confidence and, ultimately, do not rule out activating a motion of censure.

“The Groups, Platforms and Associations under signatories want to express firstly that we would like not to have to sign and publish any new Communiqué. There are already several that we have had to issue in recent years, and it has been the lack of reaction from the current Board of Directors and the failure to take the measures that we have often demanded (inaction that has ended up leading to the point we find ourselves in today), which motivates us to have to react one more blow. We would like the Club to operate in the same way. planned way and efficient, that the management was excellent, that we were leaders in many positive initiatives, that we anticipated the future, because, then, the groups under signatories would experience another type of Barcelonaism. But to deny reality, to think that things can change because of it. spontaneous generation, is not part of mature associative behavior, and if we let go socially, we will end up losing what we want.
We will not go into describing in detail the situation of chaos that we have experienced in recent weeks, which is well known to everyone. In the statement we issued on September 9, some of the undersigned groups already made reference. In recent weeks, however, the list of grievances has still increased significantly with the addition of such relevant facts as the failure to follow the auditor’s criteria in approving the 23/24 accounts to avoid recognizing ordinary losses, the recognition of a commission difficult to understand due to a mediation in the renewal of the contract signed with Nike, the attempt to hire a player by the basketball section of dubious repute using regrettable practices and the permanent uncertainty of the new Palau, the negligence in the registrations of the players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor waiting until the last moment when the Club has had 4 months to do so, also ceding rights for 20 years to companies from countries with whom the Board promised it would never make deals, finally losing income for future years, or not willingness to dialogue with the Grada d’Animació to resolve a conflict that harms us all, to cite some of the cases.
In addition to the flagrant electoral failures, the cases of negligence as proven are multiplying and the social crisis is quite evident, with which we believe that, today and now, it does not contribute anything to publicly restate what we all know perfectly well. We just want to point out that constantly living on the edge causes and causes one day the coin to not fall on the side you want, causing irreparable material, economic and social damage and a point, surely, of no return. In any case, the image and reputation of the Club, unfortunately, has been seriously damaged for some time.
We appeal to the Barcelona fans of the current members of the Board of Directors. We appeal to the spirit of the motto they used to win the last elections “We estimate Barça”. If this expression was/is real and goes beyond words, they will understand and assume that they have to step aside, and therefore:
1. They have to resign to leave in a new stage with new ways of doing and managing and with people who have those primary energies so necessary to give life and vigor to an entity in need of change and professional management. We therefore ask you, first of all, to resign immediately.
2. Even if they do not want to resign because they consider that the partners must be listened to, they can also submit to a binding question of trust, with statutory mechanisms to articulate it, as some of the Groups under signatories proposed 4 months ago.
3. Thirdly, the non-reaction to our previous public proposals/requests means that we cannot rule out a final scenario, which is the activation of a Vote of Censure, the only tool that members have, an option that implies an important effort and wear and tear both by its promoters and by the Club itself. That is why we ask you to prioritize your appreciation at Barça above any other consideration.
Now is the time to demonstrate true Barcelona fandom.
