Girona announced this Thursday the signing of Ukrainian goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapyvtsov. He is 19 years old and has been without a club since last summer, when his contract with SK Dnipro-1 ended. Krapyvtsov signs until June 2029 and was included in the ideal eleven of the European under-19.
In the statement, Girona points out that its new goalkeeper stands out for his “great projection, technique, good control of the ball with his feet and ability to know how to read the game.” His incorporation to Montilivi occurs after several weeks in which he has been training on a trial basis with the rojiblancos.
The Ukrainian could go out on loan in the winter market, since the team already has three goalkeepers: Paulo Gazzaniga -whose ownership is beyond doubt-, Pau López -on loan from Olympique de Marseille- and Juan Carlos -who is ending his contract with Girona at the end of June.
In statements released by the Girona entity, Krapyvtsov pointed out that his goal is to debut in LaLiga and be able to play in European competitions. The Ukrainian has maintained that he is good at “building the team’s attack” and “finding space.”
Regarding the atmosphere in the red and white team, the goalkeeper assures that he feels very comfortable with all the players and the staff: “They make you feel like it’s a family, your colleagues are not superstars.”
