Saint Bibiana’s life was marked by tragedy: she was imprisoned and condemned to die of hunger along with her sister Demetria. The Roman emperor Apronian ordered the execution of both, but Bibiana managed to avoid the same fate as her sister. However, her luck did not improve, as she was tied to a pillar and whipped to death. Although his body was abandoned, the dogs that approached did not touch it. In his honor, a church was built on the site where his home once stood.
