The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sanchezannounced this Sunday the upcoming creation of a “large public housing company” that is “capable of building and managing housing from the General State Administration.
The leader of the Executive has made this “important announcement” in his closing speech at the Federal Congress of the PSOE that is being held in Seville this weekend. Sánchez has not offered more details at the moment about this public company.
In the socialist ranks they are aware that the issue of housing is key in the coming years and they intend to make a move with forceful actions that provide solutions. For the moment, the Minister of Housing, Isabel Rodríguez, has been questioned by left-wing political groups and also by civil society mobilized in the streets.
She herself participated in the first thematic event of this conclave last Friday. Together with the minister, Denis Itxaso, Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda of the Basque Government; Sara Hernández, mayor of Getafe; Pablo Zuloaga, general secretary of the PSOE of Cantabria, and Víctor Camino, general secretary of the Socialist Youth of Spain (JSE).
“At each attack, there will be a new progressive policy approved in the Official State Gazette (BOE)“Sanchez said about the right and the extreme right. “They attack feminism, because we will respond with the renewal of the State Pact against gender violence,” he said.
“They attack the labor reform, we will promote the reduction of the working day,” he added.
