Coinciding with the International Day of People with DisabilitiesDecember 3, the seventh edition of Agora Wellbeing, a conference dedicated to occupational health and the organizational well-being. The event, which will take place in the Santalucía Assembly Hall in Madrid and will be presented by ABC Bienestar journalist, Raquel Alcolea; brings together experts, business leaders and academics to address digital transformation at work, diversity and inclusion, the impact of technology on health, and mental health management in organizations.
It will also have practical workshops, presentations of innovations in well-being and the Ágora Bienestar 2024 Awards Ceremony.
Diverse and equal program
The day will begin with the official opening by Aitana Garí, director of the National Institute of Safety and Health at Work (INSST), Juan Carlos Sáez de Rus, Manager of Welfare and Health in Santalucía, and Belén Cid, responsible for the Health and Safety Service. Prevention of Iberdrola Spain on behalf of the Organizing Committee of Ágora Bienestar.
The meeting begins with the inaugural conference-workshop ‘From outside to inside‘, directed by Sandra Alonso, doctor in Psychology from Umivale Activa, who will share tools to strengthen the emotional and mental well-being of employees.
Another fundamental moment of the congress will be the debate on the ‘Algorithmocracy and transhumanization in labor relations‘, which will feature the participation of Raquel Aguilera (Complutense University of Madrid), Adrián Todolí (University of Valencia) and Jesús Mercader (Carlos III University of Madrid), under the moderation of José Antonio Fernández, managing director of the State Foundation for Prevention of Occupational Risks.
Later, after a healthy breakfast, there will be a round table focused on the ‘Good practices in workplace well-being and impact on organizations’with representatives of companies such as QDQ Media (José Manuel Molares, director of People), Holcim (Verónica Martín, director of Human Resources, Communication and CSR, and EDP (Bibiana Martínez, Global Wellbeing Strategy), moderated by Araceli Morato, director of BBVA Occupational Health and Wellbeing.
Innovation and inclusion, the pillars
Inclusion will be the protagonist in the interview ‘Generation of disability-inclusive work environments‘, with Esther Bienes, president of the Foundation for Accessibility and Social Responsibility, and Laia Bernà, Workplace Expert at Cellnex Telecom.
In addition, innovative initiatives such as Comuni-Signo, a tool for inclusive communication in sign language presented by Ignacio Benítez, AppAccessibility 2024 award; ‘Life Nanohealth’, a European project on the impact of nanoparticles in occupational health by Ana Mayor, project coordinator; ‘Mental Health Mentors’, a strategy to support the mental health in companiesled by Ana Cortés; Director of Business Development at Yees!; and ‘Stay Healthy,’ a promotion of healthy habits from Fundación Quirónsalud and presented by its director, Teresa Álvarez.
In the afternoon, the conference will take a more dynamic approach. Evangelina Armero Giménez (Head of Business Development at Unimat Prevention) will start the workshop ‘Mental health in the company‘, followed by practical experience «From anamnesis to mental health in companies», led by Guillermo Gil (technical director of Health Surveillance at Valora Prevention); and Lorena Alfaro, psychologist from ITAE Empresas, will close the workshop. All of them from Avanta.
Next, Javier Sánchez, co-director of the UCM-Cofares Chair of Health Promotion and Social Responsibility in Business; will address the interview’Education and Wellbeing: Brain-protected space‘, with Juan José Muñoz Benito (CaixaBank) and Julio Agredano (Fundación Freno al Ictus) who will share preventive, training and awareness-raising actions against ictusthe main cause of disability in adults.
The last conference’For innovative well-being management‘ is led by Pablo Yáñez, Global Director of Health&Safety at Acciona Infrastructure, where the dichotomy between technology and well-being will be addressed.
The final touch is the delivery of the Ágora Bienestar 2024 Awards, that in addition to the usual categories, this year a distinction will be awarded to a company outstanding for its commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities.
The official closing will be led by Silvia Marina Parra, director of the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work of the Community of Madrid; Francisco Calderón, director of Labor Relations Strategy of Santalucía; and Antonio Moreno, Honorary member of the Ágora Bienestar Organizing Committee.
