Universae, International Technological Education Institution, has inaugurated its new headquarters in Colombia with the aim of extending its higher education offer, which combines double degrees, international mobility and virtual methodology. With an investment close to 10 million euros, the center not only seeks to transform technological education in Colombia, but also to energize the labor market, according to sources from the institute. Specifically, it is expected to generate 600 direct jobs, including teachers, administrative and managerial staff. It also plans to enroll 3,000 students by 2025, consolidating its commitment to the educational and economic development of the country.
Universae’s academic offering in Colombia starts with four technological programs accredited by the Ministry of Education in key areas: electromechanics, administrative and financial management, marketing and commercial management, and telecommunications. These programs have been designed to respond to the demands of the labor market, providing students with the necessary skills to face the challenges of the global economy.
“The commitment to Colombia responds to the need to train local talent with skills that adjust to the demands of the global market, contributing to the transformation and progress of the region,” says Manuel Clavel Sainz, Director of Expansion at Universae.
The Universae headquarters in Bogotá with 5,000 square meters, has 21 classrooms, 11 laboratories, a library, auditorium, offices and infirmary, among other spaces. These facilities offer an ideal environment for optional in-person practical training, complemented by state-of-the-art educational technology. In the long term, Universae plans to expand its academic offering to more than 24 programs, establish new headquarters in different cities of the country and strengthen its network of alliances with companies and national and international institutions to provide greater internship and employability opportunities for their students.
Universae’s international vision opens a world of possibilities for Colombian students, facilitating international mobility to other headquarters of the institution in countries such as Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico and Ecuador, among others. This global approach fosters cross-cultural connections and enriches the educational experience. Universae stands out in educational technology, as it integrates advanced platforms such as Universae360a digital learning environment that offers students access to interactive materials, simulators, and virtual reality tools for an immersive and engaging educational experience.
In addition, the OpenUNIVERSAE model allows for flexible and practical teaching, where students can participate in voluntary in-person experiences that enrich their training and encourage creativity, teamwork and problem solving. “Through our e-learning ecosystem built through innovative technologies such as augmented reality, 3D environments and immersive simulations, students not only acquire knowledge, but internalize it in a playful and practical way, with learning experiences that evoke a video game or a scientific laboratory from the comfort of your home. In this way, learning is easier, but also more fun,” he emphasizes. Manuel Clavel Sainz, Director of Expansion at Universae.
