Thomas Tuchel’s long-time assistant coach Arno Michels will be the new coach trainer for the German Football Association. The 57-year-old will succeed Daniel Niedzkowski at the DFB on January 1st, who is moving to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion as Fabian Hürzeler’s new assistant.
“Arno has a lot of experience from three top European leagues. Bringing in these experiences and insights means great added value,” said DFB managing director Andreas Rettig. Michels was Tuchel’s assistant for 13 years, in Mainz, Dortmund, Paris, at Chelsea and most recently at FC Bayern.
