For the transport of people with disabilities and reduced mobility, the minimum services will amount to 90%
The Community of Madrid has guaranteed “up to 80%” of the minimum public transport services, both urban and interurban buses, for the two days of passenger transport strike scheduled for this Thursday and Friday.
The FSC-CCOO union has called on road transport drivers to support a nationwide strike. For its part, both the State Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption of the General Union of Workers Union (Fescm-UGT) and the Free Transport Union (SLT) have decided to call it off. If no agreement is reached, they are also called to strike on December 5 and 9, and from the 23rd of that month the strike would be indefinite.
Thus, the Department of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure has established minimum services for the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) of 75% in peak hours and 50% in off-peak hours. Regarding intercity buses, the minimum services will be 80% in peak hours, and 45% in off-peak hours. The peak hour includes in all cases from the beginning of the service provision at 6:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
For the transport of people with disabilities and reduced mobility, the minimum services will amount to 90%. Likewise, for the night lines, coverage of 45% of the scheduled service is guaranteed in all of them and during holidays, it will be 50% in EMT and 45% in the rest of the urban and interurban buses of the Community of Madrid.
With regard to school transportation, since it is considered an essential service because it affects minors and their right to education must also be guaranteed, the establishment of minimum services of 60% has been planned.
