An explosion in a factory in an industrial estate in Ibi (Alicante) has left three dead, three seriously injured and three others of varying severity, as reported by the Provincial Firefighters Consortium.
The incident has forced the mobilization of up to seven fire crews from the Alicante Provincial Council and health personnel, as reported by Emergencies 112 Comunitat Valenciana through the social network X. Several people have been trapped in the rubble, according to the Consortium.
At around 12:00 p.m. the Consortium received notification of the incident, recorded in a warehouse on Murcia Street in the town, when a boiler exploded and collapsed part of the factory, the roof and part of the walls of the company.
As a result of these events, several people who were on the ship, three, have been trapped by the debris, according to the Consortium. Firefighters have rescued two of them. Part of the roof was thrown off by the explosion and hit an adjacent warehouse, although in this case only material damage was reported.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) has mobilized a medical helicopter, three units of the Urgent Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) and another four units of Basic Life Support (BLS) to the scene of the event. Agents from the Local Police of this Alicante municipality and the Generalitat Police are also working in the affected area.
A leadership command unit has been mobilized from the Consortium; a heavy urban bomb; two heavy rural bombs; a light urban bomb; a heavy mother bomb; a various rescue van with an officer, a sergeant, five corporals and 14 firefighters from the Ibi, Cocentaina, San Vicente and Villena parks, in addition to Alpha 01 with a rescue group.
