Sara Aagesenuntil now Secretary of State for Energy, promises this Monday before the king her position as substitute for Teresa Ribera, at the head of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, as confirmed by Executive sources.
Prior to this event, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will make an institutional statement, scheduled for nine in the morning, as he has already done when other ministers have proceeded to take possession of their new positions, as happened recently with Oscar Lopez when he accessed the Digital Transformation portfolio.
Ribera’s replacement in the Government was agreed after her appointment as executive vice president of the new European Commission of Ursula von der Leyen (European People’s Party), with its ratification scheduled for next week, once the veto promoted by Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s PP has been overcome.
With this appointment, Pedro Sánchez completes the changes in his Executive, which Óscar López, who was director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, recently joined as Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service filling the vacancy left by José Luis Escrivá after his appointment as the new governor of the Bank of Spain.
