The president of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Pagehas advanced that he will propose at the Conference of Presidents that will take place on December 13 in Santander that the new taxes, contemplated in the fiscal package approved this past Thursday in the Congress of Deputies, are shared to “unite” the different territories of the country and not to “give it to the territories that have more.”
García-Page, who this Saturday received the Award in Barcelona Don Quixote 2024 awarded by the Federation of Native Communities of Castilla-La Mancha in Cataloniahas pointed out that if taxes are imposed “on those who have more, on the banks”, it cannot be to deliver that money “to the territories that have more” because that It has no logic “anywhere”.
“If you want go robin hood with taxes, obviously that has to translate into sharing, so that we become more cohesive and can aspire to have all the same services, the same rights,” he stated.
For all these reasons, he has also stated that he will request the holding of a Fiscal and Financial Policy Council “to agree among all on the method of distribution “I am also going to propose as president that this debate be in the month of December,” he stressed.
“If I defend that those who have the most have to pay more It is to be able to share it. It is not just worth charging taxes, it depends on who and in what proportion,” he stated, considering that this is a “transcendental” debate because behind it “is health and education.”
