The Anthill concluded the week with a visit from Hollywood, British actor Hugh Grantwho presented his new film Hereticwhich opens in theaters on January 3.
In the film, Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by the diabolical Mr. Reed, played by Grant. The three will find themselves involved in a brutal game of cat and mouse during a long stormy night.
“The story is two Mormon missionary girls who are near Colorado touring houses explaining their religion. The last house they call is mine, I seem like a charming being and very interested in his religion.“he explained.
“But little by little, the girls begin to realize that I am not what I seem… Filming this film I discovered that I love to kill“, admitted the British.
Pablo Motos highlighted that Grant was among the favorites to win an Oscar this year, to which the actor responded: “I don’t know if the Oscars thing is real, but thanks for encouraging me”.
“Heretic It is a film of psychological tension, I will not say horror because I have been scared of horror movies since I was a child.what I saw The Exorcist being too small,” he confessed.
He also commented on the film that “I tried to keep the film, despite the tension, light in tone, because I thought it would be even scarier. There are situations in the film where I make very long silences to drive the girls crazy“.
“Do the same resources that you have from romantic comedy serve to scare you?” asked the Valencian. Grant replied that “I think It’s about finding what you like or what you feel sorry for about the character.then the audience will connect with it.”
“The bad guys are always attractive and seductivethat’s one of the reasons why we actors like to play bad guys. “I think that’s why I’m having such a good time at this stage of my career, better than when I had to do so many romantic comedies, that you can end up being dull,” he added.
