A large fire in an industrial warehouse in the Silvota industrial estate, in the Asturian council of Llanera, has generated a dense cloud of smoke visible from the A-66 highway that connects the Principality and León. The fire, which broke out at 1:30 p.m. and was declared contained at 5 p.m., has caused no injuries.
112 Asturias has asked the population of the Llanera town of Santa Rosa to confine themselves to their homes, close doors and windows, and place damp cloths in the cracks due to the possible toxicity of the smoke. If you are on the street, it has been recommended that you go to a closed place. The population’s measures have been lifted in the middle of the afternoon as the fire is considered to have been confined, while work is being done to completely extinguish it.
The Principality’s Emergency Service (SEPA) has warned drivers of the need to drive with caution and, if possible, to avoid driving in this area.
More than a dozen SEPA Firefighters participate in the extinguishing work. The collaboration of firefighters from Oviedo and Gijón has also been requested. Patrols from Citizen Security, the Traffic Group and Seprona, as well as agents from the Local Police, have traveled to the site.
The Platerpa Plan
The Minister of Development, Local Cooperation and Fire Prevention, Alejandro Calvo, decreed the activation of the Territorial Plan of the Principality of Asturias (PLATERPA), at zero status. This situation includes localized emergencies that can be controlled by the means and resources available in the area resulting from an unfavorable evolution of the industrial fire.
The Emergency Coordination Center of 112 Asturias received the notice at half past one in the afternoon through a telephone call alerting that a container was burning near the façade of a warehouse, with appliances, located on the main street. of the polygon. The fire spread to an adjacent industrial warehouse that contains flammable material.
The ship borders the train tracks and the A-66, which have not been affected by the danger of smoke toxicity, as indicated by the armed institute.
