The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) will declare this Wednesday the yellow alert in the Balearic Islands as a result of the strong wind from the west and northwest that is expected, with maximum gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
Specifically, the alert will remain active from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the case of the largest of the Balearic Islands due to winds and adverse phenomena, between 4:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. in Eivissa and Formentera, where waves of 3 meters are expected with special incidence on walks and exposed areas, and between 06:00 and 16:00 in the case of Menorca, with waves also measuring three meters, according to information from Aemet consulted by elDiario.es.
Already on Thursday, the 20th, the yellow warning will be activated again from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in Mallorca and the Pitiüses – in the latter case due to winds of up to 80 km/h and until 10:00 p.m. in Menorca.
