The Executive promises its partners a royal decree law to extend its validity to all of 2025
The Government has agreed ‘in extremis’ with ERC, Bildu and BNG extend the tax on energy companies throughout the year 2025 in exchange for these parties saving the ruling of the law to establish a minimum tax on multinationals and, if this is successful, supporting the PSOE amendment to extend the bank tax for three years.
ERC and Bildu had threatened to knock down the bill if the tax on energy companies was not included, which Junts flatly rejects, but now they accept the commitment to extend it only one year via royal decree law. The vote on the opinion was postponed this Monday until eleven at night so that the parties could continue negotiating, but it has not yet taken place.
In any case, it will move forward because in the hypothetical case that Junts rebels against this agreement, its votes in committee, along with those of PP and Vox, do not exceed those of the rest of the parties. Yes, it could overthrow him in the plenary session on Thursday, where the three together have an absolute majority.
