GUADALAJARA.- The future of the municipal government of El Casar, in the province of Guadalajara, until now supported by a tripartite formed by the PP, Vox and Contigo Somos Democracia – with four, three and two councilors, respectively – remains up in the air after renounce their affiliation to the ultra party two of their councilorsOlga González and Corinne Basarot – and announce their move to the non-attached group.
Fact that has been followed by the registration of a motion of censure against the mayor of the PPJosé Luis González Lamola, whose continuity by remaining in the minority in the council, compared to the seven councilors of the PSOE and one of Unidas Podemos, becomes unlikely.
A twist in the script in the municipal government of this town in La Campiña, which the two councilors have communicated through social networks, who claim to have made the decision “after a deep analysis and reflection”, considering that the current situation that is being experienced, both at the municipal and national level – they specify – leads them to “put the interests of the neighbors above any partisan conviction.”
This is what leads them to renounce their affiliation in Vox and join the group of non-members in the El Casar City Council. A decision that they say they do not take lightly, since “the course” of the current government team “is based solely on ideological interests and does not allow policies that really help neighbors.”
And, they say, it is “an open secret” that The government agreement “is a fiasco” for many reasons, among which they point out that only one meeting of the government team has been held in more than a year, the denial of material, economic and human resources to carry out their obligations, or the lack of information and transparency.
Added to all this, as González and Basarot denounce, the “harassment on networks from our own teammates; leaks and malicious publications”, together with a “perpetual electoral campaign” of two of the team members and lack of leadership.
All of them issues to which the “lack of respect” for the national mourning declared after the Valencia tragedy by deciding not to cancel the Halloween programming, with the consent of Vox and intending to “take political advantage of a misfortune”, has led to this decision before andThe “bread and circuses” that municipal government has become.
The two councilors claim that they did not come to the El Casar City Council “for this”, but rather to “roll up our sleeves and work” for the municipality in which they live with their families, something that “not everyone on the team can say.”
Thus, they regret that all their suggestions and complaints have been “forgotten”, and since they are not willing to “lose this entire legislature” and are willing to work, they have decided to no longer be “complicit” in the situation.
In this sense, they guarantee the residents of El Casar that their decision is the result of their commitment to the municipality and its people. “We will continue working with the same passion and dedication as from the first day we assumed our responsibilities as councilors,” they say. And although they assure that their “values and convictions remain the same” as when they presented themselves under the Vox acronym, given that it is not possible to defend them “from within, we will do so from the outside.”
That said, after considering that it is time for the people to “rebel against political parties at all levels” and pointing out “the political class” as the “true enemy,” they claim to be “open to dialogue” and to collaborate for the formation of a new government“as long as they are committed people.”
Their objective, they add, is “to find joint solutions and advance projects that improve the quality of life of all the residents of El Casar.” “We will work tirelessly to get El Casar and Mesones everything they deserve,” they conclude.
In this way, the departure of Vox and, therefore, of the government team, of these two councilors opens the door in El Casar to a motion of censure about which it is expected that more details will be offered this Tuesday, at a press conference, the councilor-spokesperson of the PSOE in the town, María José Valle.
