The Ministry of Health has put out to public consultation the update of the regulations regarding the recognition of specialist titles in Health Sciences obtained in non-member states of the European Union. Now, the population, associations and organizations will be able to send their opinions to Mónica García’s department until December 3 of this year.

In addition, it seeks to expand Health Sciences specialists with non-EU degrees who request recognition of the professional effects of their specialty. In fact, HE will give preference to the recognition of deficient specialtiesthat is, where the most toilets are lacking. Equally important, communication channels between the Ministry of Health and the autonomous communities will be strengthened.
Mónica García’s department must “urgently address the need to grant recognition to those specialists in an irregular situation that communities continue to hire due to the need for specialists in Spain,” the document of the new regulations states. In other words, stop the hiring of people who do not have their degree recognized.
It should be remembered that Royal Decree 459/2010, of April 16, already existed, which regulates the conditions for the recognition of professional effects for foreign titles of specialists in Health Sciences, obtained outside the EU. According to Health, this regulation was intended to respond to the situation of society at the time, which is characterized by a high level of mobility of professionals, not only within Europe but also outside.
