Boxer Mike Tyson returned to the ring this weekend to star in his long-awaited fight against Jake Paul and a million-dollar audience on Netflix, but despite his defeat, He has stated that he feels like a winner.
And the New York boxer revealed this Saturday that a few months ago was about to die, so the simple fact of participating in the fight was a victory for him.
In a message posted on X (the social network formerly known as Twitter) Tyson wrote: “This is one of those situations where you lose, but you still win.”
“I almost died in June. I received eight blood transfusions. “I lost half my blood and 11 kilos in the hospital,” explains Tyson. “I had to fight to get healthy so I could fight, so I won,” he added.
“Let my children see me face and finishing eight rounds with a talented boxer half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboys stadium is an experience no man has the right to ask for. Thank you,” Tyson concluded.
His rival on Friday, Jake Paul, reacted with another emotional message to the legendary New York boxer’s tweet: “I love you, Mike. It was an honor. “You are an inspiration to all of us,” he added.
