Israeli fighter jets have again bombed the southern suburbs of Beirut in the area known as Dahiyeh, one of the strongholds of the Shiite group Hezbollah.
“A series of attacks against Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure facilities in Dahiyeh were carried out under the direction of intelligence,” the Army details in a statement.
Shortly before these attacks and as the Army spokesman usually does in Arabic, Avichay Adraeeissued new evacuation requests for the few civilian population that remains living in that area.
“To all residents located in the southern suburban area, specifically in the buildings specified in the attached maps and their neighboring buildings in Haret Hreik. For your safety and that of your family members, you must evacuate these buildings and those adjacent to them immediately and stay away from them at a distance of no less than 500 meters,” he wrote in his X account.
During the day on Friday the Israeli Army launched up to four waves of attacks against Dahiyeh in addition to its usual bombings in the southern and eastern areas of the neighboring country.
Israel justifies these attacks by claiming that the Lebanese militia “has systematically incorporated its terrorist infrastructure into the Lebanese civilian population.”
On the other hand, at least four drones and twenty projectiles were fired from Lebanon at the northern Israel this Sunday.
The Army has reported that the unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and that most of the rockets were intercepted, without causing any casualties. In the midst of this crossfire, diplomatic efforts to try to achieve a ceasefire continue to advance.
Yesterday, the president of the Lebanese Parliament and Hezbollah ally, Nabih Berriconfirmed the receipt of an American proposal during an interview with the London-based Arab newspaper, Al Sharq al Awsat.
