He Xixon International Film Festival this Friday began its 62nd edition with an inaugural gala in which the director Ado Arrieta, considered a reference in auteur cinema, collected the Honor Award, and the actress Rossy de Palma, the Isaac del Rivero award in recognition to his professional career.
The actor and comedian Julian Lopez He served as “master of ceremonies” at the opening ceremony, which gave way to a “film marathon” with the participation of 200 filmmakers and the screening of 169 films over nine days, until next November 23.
Ado Arrietawho collected the award from the filmmaker Albert Serrathanked him for the recognition because “it comes from the world of cinema” and stated that it will be a “stimulus” to continue in his work.
Rossy de Palma, who has been acclaimed by the public that filled the Jovellanos Theater hall, has received from the hands of the mayor Carmen Moriyonand of Manuel del Riveroson of Isaac del Riverocreator of the festival six decades ago.

At the end of the opening gala, the Italian actress and singer Margherita Vicario has presented its first feature film, titled “Gloria”, which has opened the official section out of competition in which around thirty feature films participate.
“Gloria” seeks to highlight the composers of musical scores who throughout history were not recognized and many of them were not able to sign their works with their own names and had to do so with male pseudonyms, the director explained.
