Andres Iniesta He recently announced his retirement from the playing fields, but the former midfielder remains linked to the world of football through offices. As reported by several local media, the former Albacete international, through his company ‘Never Say Never’ (NSN), has become co-owner of Helsingora club in the third category of Danish football coached by the Spanish Pep Alomar and whose sports director is Quim Ramón, a coach with extensive experience in the youth ranks of FC Barcelona.
“The goals are to see that the team improves year after year, that players come out of the quarry, that at the level of facilities it improves and that people can feel proud of their team,” Iniesta declared today to the Danish channel TV2. NSN has acquired a majority stake in the club along with the Spanish-Swiss firm Stoneweg, led by Jaume Sabater.
This Thursday Iniesta visited the Helsingor facilities, located about 90 kilometers north of Copenhague, met with the coaching staff and the players and on Friday will attend the league match between the local team and Ishoj, the last one before the winter break in Danish football, reports Ep.
Co-founder of NSN, Iniesta has said he is delighted to open this new experience in his life, after recently hanging up his boots and beyond training to be a coach. «After playing as a professional, I am very motivated to start this new stage of my life by contributing my experience to a club like FC Helsingor, the first project of an exciting alliance between NSN and Stoneweg. “It’s a great opportunity to get to know football in a different way.”
Helsingor, which seven seasons ago played one year in the Super League (highest category), occupies seventh place out of a total of 12 teams in the so-called Second Division (third category).
