Acciona will build a breakwater that will shelter the new floating terminal for industrial uses in the Port of Ravenna (Italy), a project that has been budgeted in 216 million eurosas announced yesterday by the construction company.
The work, which will be carried out by a consortium made up of the listed Spanish company and the Italian company RCM Construzioni, will consist of a vertical dam, built with concrete caissons; It will have a length of 880 meters and a width of 22 meters.
The infrastructure will be located at 8.5 kilometers of the coastline in front of Punta Marina, south of the Port of Ravenna, in the North Adriatic, and has an execution period of 24 months. The Port Authority of the North-Central Adriatic Sea will finance the work through a loan granted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, one of Italy’s main development banks.
Acciona has already carried out similar works in the ports of Açu, in Brazilthe dock waste dumps (Cartagena) or the extension of the harbor breakwater Tarragona.
Closing of the hydraulic sale
In addition to the award in Italy, Acciona Energía announced yesterday the closing of the sale of 175 megawatts (MW) of hydroelectric power in Spain to Elawan Energy, a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation, after complying with the condition regarding foreign investment to which the operation was subject.
The Acciona subsidiary has received 293 million euros for the sale, generating a capital gain of 180 million.
The 175 MW subject to the transaction correspond to 100% of the Acciona Saltos de Agua, SL (ASA) group, formed by 23 reservoir hydroelectric plants (77% of capacity) and flowing (23% of capacity) of small and medium size, located in Aragón, Cantabria and Catalonia.
The projects have long-term concession agreements with a remaining average life of 23 years. This operation is part of the rotation strategy of assets of the company and highlights its value in the market.
