How is an emergency like the one we are seeing these days in the Valencian Community managed? What environmental and social consequences does it have? How are professionals experiencing it from the field? What is needed and what is still missing?
At Carne Cruda we look again at València and the places affected by DANA and we do it in a program in collaboration with Action against hunger. We focus on who carries out the coordination of teams and work in the midst of the catastrophe, on what has happened and continues to happen in the affected towns and we look at the people who experience it on the front lines: neighbors, professionals of all kinds and volunteers.
We have the last hour with journalists who are in the affected municipalities and we analyze with experts in emergency and disaster management what is happening in Valencia, what the professionals who are on the ground are doing, what environmental and social consequences all this has and how to face them. We are joined by Action Against Hunger, its deputy director Sonia González, Pablo Mayor, responsible for Water and Sanitation; and from Valencia, Elisa BernalFocal point for communication in emergencies.
A program in which we also listen to what the work of volunteers is like through the voice of the testimonies of Ana Trancosowho lives in Valencia and has been in the areas affected by Dana and the Valencian journalist since the beginning Pilar Almenar He guides us to show us how the people and help have organized themselves on a 12-kilometer walking tour, leaving from Valencia and entering ground zero, we tour the Valencian district of La Torre and the towns of Alfafar and Benetússer. Furthermore, we spoke with Big PapaSenegalese who lives in Barcelona, where he works as a music producer and is setting up the NGO Baye fall and we tell how 200 people organized to travel to Valencia and work as volunteers for several days.
