The journalist and bullfighting critic for ABC in Zaragoza, Ángel González Abad, has been awarded the prize for bullfighting values that has been awarded for a decade by the El Mentidero Bullfighting Corner in the Aragonese capital, one of the most prestigious in the Community. The director of Mentidero, José Manuel Valero, highlighted the constant defense and promotion of the Festival carried out by the journalist throughout his professional career.
El Mentidero, integrated into the Casa de Andalucía, the most important regional association in Zaragoza both by number of members and by its social and cultural activity, presented the Juncal trophy to the bullfighter Miguel Abellán, recognizing a life in the bullring and now as managing director of the Center for Bullfighting Affairs of the Community of Madrid.
Also awarded was Francisco Bentué, who occupied the box at the Misericordia bullring for many years, with a commendable balance between fans and authority, and is now coordinator of presidents in the Advisory Commission of the Aragonese Government.
The Casa de Andalucía also recognized the Aragonese artist Mari Carmen Rivera, who enlivened the gala.
