The Government approved this Monday in the Council of Ministers an extension of the DANA plan that it launched on Tuesday of last week. The president, Pedro Sánchez, has presented a battery of 110 additional measures with an estimated impact of 3.8 billion euros. Funds that are added to the 10,600 million already deployed and which now reach around 14,000 million.
Most of the new measures presented this Monday complement last week’s package. Firstly, the Government will grant an “immediate advance” of up to 50% of the aid for housing or damaged belongings to speed up the deployment of the subsidies. Beneficiaries will not have to wait for their file to be processed to receive the funds.
Along the same lines, the Executive has decided to extend this line of aid to housing tenants. Thus, tenants will be compensated for the tenants’ personal belongings that are damaged or lost due to the catastrophe. Likewise, coverage will be extended to goods that are not essential goods.
In addition, aid to rebuild homes will also be extended to owners who do not live in them and who had rented them. The previous decree stated that only people who resided in the property and it was their habitual residence could receive subsidies.
The amount of aid is maintained. If the destruction of the property is total, the owner is entitled to compensation of 60,480 euros, if structural damage has occurred the amount decreases to 41,280 and if the damage does not affect the structure, the amount is 20,640 euros.
