The Astillero City Council will celebrate next Saturday, November 16, at 12:00 p.m., the award ceremony of the XI Muslera de Bolos Award, which will take place in the Bretón Room, and which will recognize the tabla tabla.
As explained by the Consistory in a press release, this award seeks to recognize the work of people or groups that stand out in the support and promotion of Cantabrian bowling and, in this edition, the award will be awarded to the Las Cárcobas Bowling Society of Laredo and the Peña Pasabolo Valle de Villaverde for its contribution to the promotion of the tabla tabla.
The delivery ceremony will be an “opportunity” to pay tribute to the award-winning entities and celebrate the “richness” of this sport as a “symbol” of regional identity.
The Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Hoz, has expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the jury, made up of members of the City Council, the Cantabrian Bowling Federation, the Cantabria Bowling Foundation and representatives of the Astillero clubs. “The work of the Las Cárcobas Bolistic Society and the Peña Pasabolo Valle de Villaverde is essential to preserve the essence of Pasabolo Tablón”, recognized the councilor who has valued that, “with their effort”, this sport continues to attract generations and consolidating its “relevance” in the region.
Furthermore, he stressed that, in this way, the Muslera Award “continues to grow and, each year, stands as recognition of the effort to keep the cultural roots of Cantabria alive through sport.”
PRIZE AND PLANK PASSAGE
The Muslera Award, established in 2012 at the initiative of the Peña Bolística Los Remedios, has this year valued the trajectory of both entities.
The Las Cárcobas Bolistic Society, founded in 1967, has accumulated eight League titles, while the Peña Pasabolo Valle de Villaverde, active since 1974, has achieved 14 titles in the competition.
The Pasabolo Tablón modality, practiced mainly in the Asón-Agüera region, as well as in some areas of Vizcaya and Burgos, is a living expression of the cultural and sporting heritage of the region.
