The Archdiocese of Madrid will celebrate this Saturday, like every November 9, the festival of its patron saint, the Virgin of Almudena.

Cardinal José Cobo will preside over the high mass at 11 in the cathedral square, in which those who have lost their lives and their families will be remembered.
The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on Telemadrid and COPE, will include the traditional renewal of the Village Vote, led by the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida.

On the occasion of the celebration of the patron saint, the Madrid City Council has warned citizens of the following traffic cuts.

From 12 to 3 p.m. (approximately) incidents and/or traffic cuts are expected in Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo, Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Cibeles, Calle Alcalá and Plaza del Callao.

From 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (approximately) incidents and/or traffic cuts are expected in Plaza de España, Princesa and Marqués de Urquijo streets.
Floral offering and remembrance to the DANA victims
The patron saint’s day, November 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The floral and solidarity offering will continue. The people of Madrid are asked to honor the Virgin with flowers, but also with non-perishable food, which will be allocated on this occasion to those affected by the floods.
Likewise, as reported by the Madrid diocese, the colors of the Valencian flag will shine on the flower carpet as the procession of the Virgen de la Almudena passes.
The Galician Association of the Corpus Christi Carpet Makers of Ponteareas will decorate the passage of the patron saint in the procession. The creation, outside the cathedral, will reproduce an image of the Virgin with the Child, with the colors of the Valencian flagin tribute.
On the other hand, within the framework of the celebration of La Almudena and after the DANA catastrophe, Diocesan Caritas of Madrid has wanted to be close to the people affected by DANA through different forms of collaboration, with which it will support the Cáritas of the Archdiocese of Valencia.
