He stable time will predominate this weekend in much of the country, except in the extreme north, where cloudy skies and rain are expected, plus storms that locally could be strong in parts of the peninsular Mediterranean and especially in the Balearic Islands, according to the prediction of the spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Rubén del Campo, who anticipates that temperatures will drop next week due to the arrival of a front starting on Tuesday.
Although the temperatures this weekend will be typical of these dates or slightly higher, for next week, the country will be located between an anticyclone located in the Atlantic and a storm in the Mediterraneanwhich will encourage cold northerly winds to arrive and, therefore, lower temperatures. In general terms, the rains will be limited to the same areas as the weekend: the extreme north of the peninsula and parts of the Mediterranean, especially the northeast and the Balearic Islands.
this fridaya front will reach the northwest of the Peninsula and It will leave rain in Galicia and Asturias. Meanwhile, the showers will subside in Catalonia and in the rest of the country there will be more stable, although colder weather, as temperatures will drop. Despite this, Del Campo has pointed out that the thermometers in southern parts of the Mediterranean and Cantabrian areas will be around 22 to 24ºC in the early afternoon.
Throughout Saturday, the front will continue to cross the Peninsula, which will lead to cloudy skies with rain in the extreme north. At the same time, it may also give rise to locally strong showers in parts of the Eastern Cantabrian Sea, mountain areas in the east of the peninsula, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. In it rest of the countrythere will be cloudy intervals but without rain and temperatures will continue to drop except in the Mediterranean. By area, Málaga, Murcia or Valencia will be around 25ºC and, in general, in the interior of the peninsula maximums of between 15 and 20ºC will be reached.
This Sunday will be a rainy day in Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea and the Pyrenees, according to the AEMET spokesperson. At the same time, in the Balearic Islands and parts of the peninsular Mediterranean area there will be stormy showers and it is not ruled out that heavy rain may fall locally. In the rest of Spain there will be stable weather and temperatures without major changes, somewhat higher in Galicia and Extremadura. This way, 20ºC will be touched in parts of the Cantabrian Sea and 22ºC will be exceeded in the Mediterranean.
Temperatures will drop from Tuesday
The situation will be very similar this Monday, whenor it will rain in the far northalthough less abundant than the previous day, and again there will be chances of showers in the Mediterranean area, especially in the Balearic Islands. Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean, there may be some showers, but very dispersed and isolated. According to Del Campo, temperatures will not register major changes.
Starting on Tuesday, the cold air will begin to arrive more clearly in Spain, which will be pushed by the north winds that will also blow with intensity, especially in the Ebro and northeast of the peninsula. According to the prediction, they will cause a drop in temperatures from that point of the week onwards and will leave an atmosphere more typical of the time of year. Furthermore, there will be frost from midweek in mountain areas and moors in the center and east of the peninsula.
Although stable weather will prevail in much of the country, there will be rains and showers in the Cantabrian Sea, the Pyrenees, northern Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Specifically, they could become locally intense in these last two areas. Likewise, snow will appear in the mountains, especially in the Pyrenees, from about 1,200 to 1,400 meters, where around five centimeters of snow may accumulate each day starting Tuesday.
Finally, Del Campo explained that the atmosphere in the Canary Islands will be warm for the time of year during this weekend. In fact, they can be overcome 30 to 32ºC in the south of the most mountainous islandsas well as in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. All this will also be accompanied by skies clouded by suspended dust.
From this monday The trade winds will arrive again, clearing the haze and making lower temperatures to their normal values. Meanwhile, there will be cloudiness and rain on the most mountainous islands.
