Autumn is a favorable season for traveling: Those who do not want high temperatures find its climate favorable, there is less crowding and prices are usually lower.
In any case, the Canary Islands are one of the star destinations due to their weather almost without major variations and their extensive offer. Therefore, the newspaper Daily Mirror has published in its edition this Friday a recommendation for visit one of its famous beaches.
Specifically, it is a “hidden gem”: Maspalomas. “It is known to be the perfect place to visit if you are the type of person who loves immersive historical travel experiences“, says the Mirror.
“Among impressive dunes, lagoons and trails is the oldest lighthouse in the Canary Islands. Located in Gran Canaria, at the southernmost point of the town of Maspalomasthis lighthouse, built in 1890, is a beautiful historical monument,” says the newspaper.
Known as Fara de Maspalomas, it was built by Juan León y Castillo and has served as a beacon of light for ships sailing between Europe and the United States. With its 55 meters highat the time of its construction it was one of the “tallest buildings in the Canary Islands”.
